Safety Audits are a means of demonstrating a company’s compliance with its Health & Safety policy, legislation and statutory guidance. The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations recommends that proactive measures are taken for the periodic monitoring and review of health and safety management systems, and the best way of doing this is through an audit.
The HSE states large public and private sector organisations should have formal procedures in place for auditing and reporting on health and safety performance. So an audit isn’t only useful, it’s compliance too.
It’s a process that measures your compliance with current health and safety regulations. It assesses how well you’re implementing your Health & Safety Management System and following your responsibilities under statutory legislation.

Assist Health & Safety Services can carry out this audit for you and would generate an Action Plan of recommendations with a prioritisation of risk to the business. You can then decide how quickly these should be implemented and whether you wish to tackle the action plan internally or whether, with many of the action points, I can assist you further and hold your hand through the process. I can also arrange to visit you every 12 months to carry out an annual review of this audit to the progress you have made.
