What is Assessed?

A DSE Workstation Assessment can be carried out for an individual or a group, providing that group are using similar equipment and setups and carrying out similar functions. The assessment covers the whole workstation, including equipment, furniture, and working conditions, the job being done and any special requirements of a member of staff, for example, a user with a disability.

Assist Health & Safety Services will attend your site and work directly with the individual or group to assess the workstation in line with the regulations and will provide you with a report to document your compliance with your legal requirements and to raise any areas where improvements can be made.

What To Do If You Have An Employee Who Raises A Concern

An employee may inform you of a particular need or concern. This could be related to back injury/pain, eye strain/headaches, or a medical condition/disability to name just a few, or you may be appointing a new employee who has informed you of a specific need or disability. At these times I can attend site to carry out that initial assessment to make sure that, as a business, you are complying with your legal responsibilities and make any suggestions to either the individual or the business for improvements to their workstations in compliance with the regulations.
