Choking, cardiac arrest and major bleeding are just some of the emergency situations that prompt and effective first aid administration can be the difference between a life saved and a life lost.
The importance of providing first aid knowledge in a straightforward and memorable way is prominent now more than ever and here at Assist Health & Safety Services Limited we believe it’s vitally important that people are armed with the correct first aid information that can prepare them in emergency situations. We have, to date, trained over 500 delegates vital life saving skills through our first aid courses.
Save a Life September
As part of the St John Ambulance’s ‘Save a Life September’ campaign this year, free demonstrations are being put on across the country to teach basic first aid skills.
The charity is holding several roadshows throughout England, in which the public will actively learn how to save a life using five simple techniques and will receive a free pocket-sized first aid guide to keep on them in case of an emergency. This nationwide training scheme gives everyone the opportunity to learn the first aid skills that can then be applied to real-life emergency situations.

The most notable appeal of the St John Ambulance demonstrations is their accessibility. The uncomplicated and hands-on training method means the public will be provided with all the essential information in an easy to remember way. It also gives them a taster if they wish to further their skills and try a more intensive course.
Vinnie is back!!
Following the hugely successful British Heart Foundation ‘Hands-only CPR’ campaign featuring Vinnie Jones in 2012 which undoubtedly helped save many lives, a recent survey of 3,000 football fans, commissioned by Sky Bet, revealed that a whopping 42% had never received any CPR training and 45% said they would lack confidence in performing CPR, should they find themselves in a situation where it is required.
So, Vinnie Jones is back and once again using his unique powers of persuasion to encourage fans across the nation to step up and learn CPR in just 15 minutes using the British Heart Foundation’s RevivR™ online training and a cushion. Completing first aid training is just as much of a necessity for businesses as it is for personal development. At Assist Health & Safety Services Limited we work with NUCO, the UK’s leading independent company in First Aid training, to offer courses to businesses and individuals in the South Devon area.
